Thoughts

It is with great sadness of the passing of my dear Bhabi-ji (seeso) I can recollect back to 1957 when we had both arrived in Britain Bhabi-ji a mere 4 months before me.Bhabi-ji arriving with 2 of her children namely Balwant and Kanto in tow,she went on to be blessed with seven children six daughters, one son. I recall celebrating the births of the five children all being born in Bow rd East London. At that time I was living in the same house. Bhabi-ji was always laughing and joking-when we spoke at least once a week we reminisced of the good old times often mixed with our aches, pains and other ailments! Bhabi-ji was a very proud individual who had a very long and happy life leaving only fond memories. God bless 🙏

Our Nani 🙏 The memories that are closest to my heart are the small, gentle ones that I have carried over from the days of my childhood. They have stayed with me and when I am very old, they will still be near. Being our Nani was a role she so enjoyed, she loved it when our families would come together especially all her children & grandchildren. The joy on her face will be etched in my memory. Such happy times in Shelley Avenue when both our blessed Nana Ji & Nani Ji were here always filling the house with love, warmth & togetherness, a legacy & lesson in family values taught right there. I miss them both but comforted that they are now reunited. I will also fondly remember those quiet conversations with her which are priceless and will always stay with me. Each of us have our very own special memories which can never ever be erased. May you rest in peace Nani Ji🙏

My Nani Ji Bakhshish Kaur Samra who was the youngest of 5 Sisters, a devoted mother to 8 Children, 18 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren – This is the legacy we have from you. As a Grandchild I remember her telling us stories, lecturing us girls not to speak to boys and to stay safe, the usual Nani advice. She taught us how to love and fight, she gave us strength and she loved deeply and fully. Nani was quite an Independent lady, and a few years prior to lockdown she would travel on trains and when she needed help, she would ask strangers "help old Lady" – I loved telling people this about Nani. We will all miss you, but your spirit and strength, lives on in each of us, and in the lives that she touched. Thank you for your sacrifices, your care and love and everything that you have done for each and every one of us. Go in peace, you've earned your sleep. Your love in our hearts, we'll eternally keep.
